How Friends can Decrease their Carbon Footprint, with Dick Grossman
Dick Grossman sends the following description:
“We all use fossil fuels. We use them directly to drive, when we turn on the light switch and to cook. And we use them indirectly in the materials we use and the clothes we wear. Should we all become hermits and live in the woods, cook with wood and wear linsey-woolsey? not too likely! What can we do, then, to atone for our carbon sins?
This talk will encourage us all to live like Quakers(!), i.e. in a simple manner, and also take steps to offset our use of carbon-based fuels. Here’s a hint: the Strawberry Creek Meeting has a “Dime-a-Gallon program in which participants pay 10 cents for each gallon of gasoline they buy. Bring your own ideas how people in our Meeting can help to offset our use of fossil fuels.”
