About the Workshop
Julia Halaby, a member of our Meeting and attender of Boulder Monthly Meeting, will be with us for the weekend of Nov. 7-9 to lead us in a Compassionate Listening workshop. Julia, one of the mainstays of the Mancos Valley Worship Group in the 1990s, is an experienced social studies and special education teacher in Boulder High with special commitment to native and indigenous concerns, socio-economic inequality and diversity issues. She is a facilitator in The Compassionate Listening Project (TCLP), which offers workshops and other activities worldwide. In the US, TCLP emphasizes Compassionate Listening as a tool for everyday life. For Julia, compassionate listening is artistry in communicating with oneself and others, and a key to happiness and fulfillment.
The workshop, sponsored by Worship and Ministry, will run from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the meetinghouse, with a follow-up session during Second Hour on Sunday, Nov. 9. Lunch and snacks will be provided for Saturday. Put this workshop on your calendar for Nov.8-9.
